Description

The astonishing Église Saint-Aubin has many treasures to admire: its restored panelled vault is entirely painted, as are the small figures and sculpted panels in the grotesque style, very fashionable in the 16th century. Replacing an earlier 12th-century building, the church is in the Renaissance tradition of the Vexin Normand region, with its Latin cross plan, alternating white stone, cut flint and local sandstone walls and porch. Guided tours available on reservation.
