Enjoy a weekend full of activities to celebrate Liberation Day.
Friday, August 28—at the castle:
- 8:30 p.m.: doors open to the public,
- 9:30 p.m.: outdoor movie screening of “The Count of Monte Cristo” (2 hours 53 minutes) – free popcorn provided by the Anim’Tavil association.
Saturday, August 29:
- From 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Place de Blanmont: military vehicle exhibition by “Union Jeep Vexin,”
- From 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Place de Blanmont: performance by the “Harlem Swing Society” dancers and the “Twirling de Gaillon” majorettes,
- 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. – Downtown: military parade featuring the dancers and majorettes,
- 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. – at the castle: military vehicle exhibition,
- 11:00 p.m. – at the castle: fireworks display by “Embrasia Fireworks,”
- From 11:30 PM to 2:00 AM – at the castle: dance party hosted by “FM Diffusion.”
- Starting at 7:00 PM – at the castle: Liberation Day banquet
Barbecue for 9.90, provided by the Boucherie de l’Eglise; please reserve directly with the butcher shop before August 27, 2026.
Musical performance by the a cappella vocal trio “Pop Corn Ladies,”
Dance instruction and entertainment provided by the “Harley Swing Society” association.
Refreshments provided by the Anim’Tavil association.
You are welcome to bring your own picnic.
Disposable cutlery required—glass bottles and corks prohibited.
Sunday, August 30—in the city center:
- From 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.: open-air market from Quai du Fossé to Les Tanneurs,
- At 10:45 a.m.: commemoration at the War Memorial with the laying of wreaths and the rekindling of the Flame of Remembrance,
- From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Rouen-Gisors bicycle race.
