The Vexin Normand offers everything you imagine the Normandy countryside to be:

Discover a land

with a strong Norman character

The Vexin Normand asserts an identity forged by its medieval past as the historic frontier between the Duchy of Normandy and the Kingdom of France.
The Epte River, the natural marker of this ancient frontier, announces your arrival in Normandy.
Let yourself be surprised by its fortified castles and farms and the vestiges of this medieval period, which mark a major page in the history of France. Visit Gisors, historic capital of the Vexin Normand region, to explore this medieval city criss-crossed by the Epte canals. The town is dominated by its imposing fortified castle, haloed by the legend of the Templar treasure, which overlooks a superb cathedral-like church.

Open your eyes wide

And take a deep breath of fresh air!

As far as landscapes are concerned, multicolored fields await you, with, in season, the blue of flax, the bright yellow of rapeseed, and verdant meadows to offer you horizons as far as the eye can see. To the north of our territory, join the Lyons state forest, the largest beech forest in France: some of our villages are on the edge of this majestic forest in every season. As you pass through our villages, the half-timbering and cob of the longères or the pink bricks of the large farmhouses, manor houses and châteaux, follow on from the limestone to confirm that you are indeed in Normandy.

Overcome your prejudices

here, countryside is active and creative!
