Exploring the Vexin Normand

In the air

Flying over the plains and valleys of the Vexin Normand is an unforgettable experience. The landscapes take on another dimension. You’ll discover unsuspected places in the Vexin Normand from the air: castles, medieval ruins, ponds… and, of course, you’ll better apprehend the immensity of the Vexin plains.

Paramotor, hot-air balloon or touring plane baptism, choose the type of flight that inspires you to gain altitude.

D’Yves Air Pub is a paramotor school offering discovery flights and introductory days. Take-off is in Vesly. Thrills guaranteed!
Daily by reservation, weather permitting.

In a hot-air balloon

Fly over the Vexin Normand in a hot-air balloon with Airshow. Depending on the wind direction, you’ll discover the Epte valley, the Norman half-timbered houses of Saint-Denis-le-Ferment in the Lévrière valley, the Dangu ponds, the Gisors forest… After the balloons are set up, embark on a one-hour flight. After landing, you’ll celebrate your first as an aeronaut with a toast and receive a nice diploma. Return to the meeting point by 4×4.

On land

If you prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground, you can take a closer look at the delights and goodness produced by Mother Nature, with a little help from passionate producers, or by contributing your stone to a fabulous edifice: take part in a weekend-long restoration project to restore a medieval castle in a convivial camp atmosphere.

The medieval fortress of Châteauneuf-sur-Epte is managed by the Héritage Historique association, which organizes regular weekend restoration workcamps and welcomes goodwill.
If you’re passionate about the medieval period, if you’re keen to get involved in an unusual adventure whose ultimate aim is to revive an extraordinary historical site, all in a friendly atmosphere, give it a try!
Volunteers set up camp on the site at weekends.
The friendly restaurant La Planche Normande, just below the fortress, will allow you to recuperate from your efforts.
Enjoy a change of scenery and the feeling of contributing to a very fine project guaranteed!
Waiting for it to open for visits, the castle is open to groups all year round, by reservation.

Cider blending

at Mont-Viné

The Cidrerie du Mont-Viné welcomes you by appointment to Vesly for an in-depth tour of the cider house, followed by an optional cider blending workshop. It’s a very convivial experience, to be shared with friends, just like the owner’s creative recipes: Mojito Normand, Normandi’Ziaque… arranged liqueurs and eaux-de-vie rub shoulders with apple juice and farmhouse cider.
All year round by appointment.

The craft brewery

De Sutter

The De Sutter Brewery reveals all the secrets of beer production during a guided tour. You’ll learn all about raw materials and brewing, the different stages of beer production and visit the beer production site, bottling and kegging area (potentially noisy area in operation). At the end of the tour, beer tasting.
The first Saturday of every month from 4pm onwards, by reservation or by appointment for groups on weekdays.

Epte

Vexin Normand is a region marked by the presence of water, with the Lévrière and Epte rivers. The Epte is an ideal playground for canoeing and kayaking. You’ll be able to contemplate the scenery along the way, and sometimes even have an unexpected encounter with cows!

Canoeing

on the Epte

Evade on the Epte, one of the prettiest rivers around Saint-Clair-sur-Epte. Embark with Canoepte for a 1h45 to 4h ride with a change of scenery in this Natura 2000 listed area. The Epte meanders through luminous green plains, before offering you some invigorating sensations at the finish line, with a famous waterfall.
