To mark the 2025 Science Festival, the Musée de la Nacre et de la Tabletterie invites you to travel through time with "Archéochrono: histoires d'intelligences." Cold, enormous beasts, claws, fangs, horns... 40,000 years ago, life in Europe was very different. Humans fed, clothed, and sheltered themselves with wild plants and animals. And they were nomadic, because to hunt migratory herds, they had to track them and move with them. How did prehistoric societies ensure their survival? Scientists work daily to answer this question by studying traces of the past. They are archaeologists. Archaeology contributes to our understanding of the humans of the past, their intelligence, their skills, and their creativity. This exhibition, loaned by INRAP, is exceptionally complemented by archaeological furniture from excavations carried out in the Oise department. Game booklets are available to extend the visit experience. Also, take advantage of the presence of university researchers on October 11 and 12 to discover "Archaeologists' Intelligent Tools."
